Every holiday and every celebration at Maitri is important for two big reasons: It could be someone’s last and many never thought they would be able to celebrate another.
That’s why whenever there’s a holiday coming up, our kitchen staff decorate the dining room to celebrate. And every holiday gets its own exquisite meal.
From our giant Thanksgiving feasts to our 4th of July barbecues, Maitri knows how to party.
That’s why when it’s someone’s birthday we also make sure to celebrate. Our kitchen will let the birthday person pick their favorite foods for dinner. And our staff work to make sure to celebrate in a special way.
A recent resident, Saúl celebrated his last birthday in style with the help of his friends and his Maitri family. Together we planned for a mariachi band to come and serenade him.
Even with limited mobility and COVID, we helped Saúl celebrate with friends, music, and his favorite cake: tres leches.
As the festivities wound down, Saúl got a hug from him social worker, wishing him a happy birthday and said, “Amo a mi familia Maitri.” I love my Maitri family.
