For more than three decades, Maitri has been a loving home of safety, nourishment, and hope for people living with HIV/AIDS. Based in San Francisco, we are dedicated to ensuring every individual we serve receives compassionate, dignified care so that no one has to suffer, transition, or die alone.
How Maitri supports healing
Maitri offers a range of services to address both the medical and human needs of the people we serve. We provide residential care, long-term aftercare support, and care for those undergoing gender affirmation surgery.

Provides 24-hour expert clinical care for people living with HIV/AIDS in a home-like setting. We specialize in hospice, palliative, and respite support, ensuring a bridge of dignity in a home-like setting.

Empowers clients with the continued support and stabilization tools necessary to live independently, healthily, and connected to community for as long as possible.

A dedicated sanctuary for the Transgender, Gender-Diverse, and Intersex (TGI) community providing short-term, specialized nursing care for individuals surrounding their gender-affirming surgeries.
